Dojo Etiquette

Always bow on entering and leaving the dojo.

Instructors should be refered to as Sensei and not by name.

Nails should be kept short to avoid cutting and scratching.

Jewellery and watches should not be worn (if not possible to be removed rings and ear rings should be covered).

​Long hair should be tied back with one hair band.

Shoes should not be worn when walking on the training area.

Any behavior that is likely to offend the etiquette of the dojo is not allowed.


Gi's and Belts


It is the resposibility of the individual to ensure that their gi fits correctly and is kept clean and is in a good state of repair.

The appropriate coloured belt must be worn with the gi at all times.


Children


No child should be left at the dojo before the specified time unless the instructors are present.

Please ensure your child is collected on time from inside the dojo.


Special needs


Instructors must be informed of a students condition. E.G Poor eyesight or hearing, poor co-ordination and balance, poor spatial concept or perception, slow reaction times, poor physical condition or general learning difficulties. The instructor will then adjust their actions and instructions accordingly.

Some students may need special medication which should be kept close to hand during training sessions E.G asthma inhalers.
